occasion of his departure from the chapter as he and his
wife Jean retire to Arizona. Dan Hoyle, our
Foundation Scholar for 2002, outlined his itinerary and
research plans. Jim Arimond gave a delightful talk
on the wonders of a do it yourself boat trip on a 17th
century canal in France.

year around the world trip on his personal yacht -- a
trip of more than 55,000 miles at an average speed of 5
knots. Club President Carol Narup and
Circumnavigator husband Bill enjoy the meal, the
splendid view and Bob's talk while posing for a 50th
wedding anniversary photo.

Chicago was one of the best representated clubs at the gala celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Circumnavigators Club
on December 6, 2002 at the Union League Club in New York City. Reeve Lindbergh, daughter of Charles Lindbergh, gave one of
the main talks.
Chicago Circumnavigators say goodbye to outgoing International President Jeff Kelly. Jeff is flanked by his former teacher Chicago
VP-Foundation Jim Arimond and former Chicago President Dick Damisch. Chicago Treasurer Don Parrish displays the famous whaletooth gavel
presented to the club by William Jennings Bryan almost 100 years ago.
